  Product Description
All of our mezuzah scrolls are written by a sofer (scribe). Each mezuzah is checked for a second time by a (magiah) who is certified sofer and especializes in checking the mezuzahs. Then, the mezuzah is checked by computer scanning to make sure there are no extra or missing letters to be in complete adherence to halacha, Jewish Law. After, the mezuzah is wrapped individually with a seal of Kashrut.

The mezuzah is 7, 10, 12, 15cm or larger. The ideal size recommended is 10cm or larger. Smaller mezuzah will tend to lose their adherence to halacha over time, while a 10cm and larger mezuzah generally has a life expectancy of about 15 years.

Many people simply have a photocopy of the mezuzah scroll on their doorpost -- this does not fulfill the mitzvah of the mezuzah! It is essential to have a quality kosher mezuzah. It takes about three hours for a certified sofer to write a mezuzah -- which consists of 713 letters, and 4,649 halachos(laws)! It takes a great deal of training to become a certified sofer and understand all of the laws necessary to be in compliance. Even the slightest flaw in the writing can render a mezuzah invalid.

The mezuzah will be sent to you directly by Judaica Enterprises. We are sure that you will be happy with the mezuzah that you receive from us.

What you need to do when you place the mezuzah on the door:

Say the following blessings when fixing the mezuzah.

Baruch atah Ado-nai Eloheinu melech ha'olam asher kid'shanu bemitzvotav v'tzivanu likbo'ah m'zuzah

Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us to affix a mezuzah.

Things to remember:
  • Mezuzah literally means "doorpost", but is taken to refer to the case which holds the parchment, the claff, and then is fixed to the doorpost.
  • A mezuzah should be placed on every doorpost in the house except for the bathrooms.
  • The mezuzah should be fixed to the upper third of the right-hand doorpost (as you enter), but no less than one handbreadth (the width of your hand) from the top.
  • The mezuzah should slant inwards so that the top of the mezuzah is nearer the room into which you are entering.
  • On the parchment is written the Shema - Deuteronomy 6:4-9, 11:13-31, in which it is stated: "Write them on the doorposts of your home and upon your gates."
