Product Description “My Name is Rebecca: A Novelette” is about a Jewish family who escaped religious persecution in the early 1900s by leaving Russia and coming to America. The story describes the family’s journey to America and the process of Ellis Island. After living in the Lower East Side of New York for a short time, they settled in a small town in Wisconsin. The story, like so many other stories of that era, is one of inspiration and determination. It is about the love and strength of family, and culture, that was passed down to future generations. When I started to write this book, it was as a tribute to my mother’s parents who came to the United States from Russia in the early 1900s. It then evolved into a tribute to all of the people who came during that era. “My Name is Rebecca: A Novelette” is appropriate for readers of all ages.
